Tweed in December

December 2025, a winter civil ceremony. The grooms arrived in tweed suits, one brown and one green, with white flowers on the lapel, and had their first portraits in the registry courtyard, between iron railings and bare trees.

Inside, in a small room of blue chairs, came the vows before the registrar, joined hands, the signing of the register and raised hands at the end. The celebration moved on to a pub decorated for Christmas, with garlands, dark stout and friends all around.
